About IUCEE

The Indo Universal Collaboration for Engineering Education (IUCEE) was conceptualized in 2007 by over 150 leaders from engineering education and industry across India and the United States. The initiative was founded with the vision of transforming engineering education in India through global collaboration, innovation, and knowledge exchange.

Originally known as the Indo-US Collaboration for Engineering Education, the name was modified in 2016 to Indo Universal Collaboration for Engineering Education to reflect its broader global outreach and partnerships beyond the US.

IUCEE envisions creating a sustainable ecosystem for transforming engineering education through a strong focus on:

• Faculty development
• Student skill enhancement and leadership training
• Curriculum innovation
• Integration of modern teaching technologies
• Engineering education research and best practices

By connecting educators, institutions, and students worldwide, IUCEE aims to improve the quality, global relevance, and social impact of engineering education in India

Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education (KARE) became a consortium member of IUCEE in 2018 and established the IUCEE KARE Student Chapter (IKSC) to align student-driven initiatives with IUCEE’s mission of creating globally competent and socially responsible engineers.

About IKSC

The IUCEE KARE Student Chapter (IKSC) is the student-driven arm of IUCEE at Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education (KARE).
It provides a dynamic platform for students to engage in professional development, technical enhancement, leadership building, and community service through IUCEE’s global network and initiatives

KARE became an IUCEE Consortium Member in 2018, and since then, IKSC has been actively fostering innovation, collaboration, and holistic student growth.

IKSC primarily focuses on:

• Enhancing employability skills of every student through continuous learning and practical exposure.
• Strengthening key attributes from the 12 NBA Graduate Outcomes, including collaboration, communication, team management, social responsibility, and ethical behaviour.
• Inviting industry experts and alumni mentors to share insights about workplace environments, real-world challenges, and career readiness.
• Supporting first-year students in their transition into college life, helping them overcome insecurities and build confidence.
• Providing a hands-on platform for skill building, reinforcing that knowledge alone isn’t enough — true skill comes through consistent practice and application.

Through these initiatives, IKSC aims to empower students to become competent, responsible, and globally aware engineers capable of leading with purpose and integrity.
