Green campus with 163 Acres, 23 lacs Sq.Ft buildings and 11 lacs sq.ft of greeneries under the foot hill of southern western ghats.‘Cleanliness’ as per the Cambridge dictionary means the state of being clean or the act of keeping things clean.
One of the first commandments for health is cleanliness. Cleanliness is essential physically, mentally, spiritually and even environmentally. In order to make the campus clean and Green, several initiatives are taken to deploy the same.
Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Events hosted an extravaganza event named ‘SPARKZ’. The students of the university participated in various categories. This event is mainly a cultural event. One of the Chief guest in the event was Siddharth
(from the movie Rang De Basanti) and many more famous celebrities took part in the event as the chief guests. In short,it proved to be an amazing event.

As a club member one knows about one’s self, one’s interests, and one’s goals. Students can unravel their strengths like multitasking, organization skills, team-building skills, leadership skills, and service-mindedness. They can also add
skills to their repertoire. The clubs also help in pursuing an old hobby.
Green Army volunteers take part in many environmental related activities. Our chancellor and Vice chancellor and Registrar are interacting with green army volunteers on the day of tree adoption by the volunteers.
NSS was formed to establish the strong link between the institute and community, NSS was established at Kalasalingam in the year 1987.
NCC: National Cadet Corps was established at Kalasalingam in the year 2003 with Army wing and presently with the intake of 100.
Laboratories play a pivotal role at Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education. Being a renowned institute in the domain of Engineering and Science, students of the university tends to incline towards research and experiments. Having specific
laboratories for science and engineering students played a really important role in their development. Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education as a university became the first one to have specialized laboratories for speech and hearing-impaired
students. The university has labs such as audio speech labs, audiology labs, computer labs, etc. in order to make them capable to face the outside world.
One of the key contributors to an intensive learning experience is living in campus. Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education (KARE) has a residential facility on campus for the students. A well-furnished and artistically designed
hostels with separate buildings for boys and girls has been constructed with a view to provide best possible facilities to the students. All the Hostels are located inside the same campus and are under the surveillance of CCTV camera
and provides safe environment for both boys and girls.
The Institution has a fleet of 40 buses and two vans to transport students and staff members. The bus terminus include Krishnankoil, Srivilliputtur, Rajapalayam, Sivakasi, Madurai, Watrap, and Institution campus. Besides the regular scheduled
trips, the facility is extended for occasions like after the college hour Special Coaching Classes, Visit to Local Industries, hospitals, NSS Camps, etc.
The Central Library was started along with the institution in the year 1984. It is a two storied building built on a built-up area of more than one lakh square feet and fully air-conditioned with the seating capacity to accommodate more than 1000
users at a time. It has more than 98,000 volumes of books in various domains such as engineering, management, advanced sciences, life sciences and agriculture and general. The library subscribes to 412 periodicals in print at national and
international level. Besides, the library has 3383 bound volumes of periodicals, 5708 Project Reports.
The Kalasalingam Technology Business Incubator (KTBI) was established in the year 2015, which was started as Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC) with the support of NSTEDB National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship
Development Board (NSTEDB), Department of Science and Technology (DST), New Delhi. Students and faculty are motivated to convert their innovative ideas to product with the support of upto ₹10 Lacs from KTBI under IEDC scheme, which
strengthens the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Our students have developed software that helps in the learning process of hearing-impaired people. Our students have also developed software for Exam Administration System (EASY), Attendance Information Systems (AIMS), Student Information System
(SIS), Staff Attendance and Leave Transaction (SALT), Students SMS (S-SMS), Online Registration System (OCRS) Hostel Management System, Finance Management System, Health Center Management and Biometric Based Attendance Monitoring System for
staff. These softwares are currently used in our University. Moreover, our students have also developed school automation software as per the needs of schools. Competitions Students are motivated to participate in department association activities
like quizzes, paper presentations, etc. Moreover, they are allowed to participate in inter and intra collegiate to equip them with today’s competitive world.
Founder Chairman Kalvi Vallal Mr. T. Kalasalingam’s 100 th birth centenary celebration was
held on 20 th September, 2024 under the leadership of Honourable Chancellor Dr. K.
Sridharan. Pro Chancellor Dr. S. Arivazhaki, Vice President of Dr. S. Shasi Anand, Vice
Chancellor Dr. S. Narayanan and Registrar Dr. V. Vasudevan shared about their experiences
with the Founder Chairman Mr. T. Kalasalingam. Dr. A. Samson Nesaraj, Director (Student
Affairs) shared the welcome address. Students exhibited their talents through various
competitions, viz., speech, solo singing and group dance. A debate on the title,
‘வாழ்க்கையின் வெற்றிக்கு காரணம் கல்வியா? செல்வமா?’ was co-ordinated by the Pro
Chancellor Dr. S. Arivazhaki. A book titled, ‘கல்வி வள்ளல் கலசலிங்கம் வாழ்க்கை
பயணம்’ written by Dr. C. Sangeetha was also released by the Honourable Chancellor.
Students who won first, second and third prizes in the founders’ day competitions received
their certificates and cash awards from the Honourable Chancellor.
As part of the founder’s day celebrations, merit certificates distribution ceremony
was held in the afternoon of 20 th September, 2024. Students who secured first, second and
third ranks during the academic year 2023 – 2024 received their merit certificates and medals
from the Honourable Chancellor and Vice President. Dr. J. Winolin Jappes, Controller of
Examinations shared the vote of thanks. The Directors, Deans, HODs, faculty members, non-
teaching staff members and students participated in the function. Mr. S. J. Kabilan, Dr. S.
Kundhavai, Dr. C. Sangeetha and Dr. R. Thiru Murugan co-ordinated the event.
KARE organized the celebration of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose Birth Anniversary in the name of “Parakram Diwas 2024” on January 23, 2024. This program was organized for the students of KARE. This fest consisted of 8 events with a total of 67 participants. The function was started in a pleasant morning at Admin block seminar hall. The Vice Chancellor Dr. S. Narayanan and the Director (Student Affairs) Dr. A. Samson Nesaraj attended the inauguration function. Welcome address was given by Dr. C. Sangeetha, Faculty coordinator of Tamil Mandram. It was followed by lighting the lamp and unveiling of Photo exhibition by the Vice Chancellor of KARE. The Presidential address was given by Dr. S. Narayanan, Vice Chancellor, KARE who motivated the participants highlighting the life of Netaji. The summary of the events planned for the day was given by Mr. S. J. Kabilan, Assistant Director – Student Affairs / Event Convener, KARE. Then the Vice Chancellor and Director – Student affairs requested the club coordinators to kick start the events as per the agenda. The first event debate was conducted by Tamil Mandram on the topic “Contribution of Youth to India – Before and After Independence”. The next event was an essay writing competition on the topic “Nethaji– Life and Values for the Youth”. It was followed by the cultural programs like singing and dance organized by the Fine Arts club of KARE in the theme of patriotism. Then, the participants were invited to view the photo exhibition prepared by the Photography club on the life of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose. This was followed by an quiz competition on “Netaji’s life and contribution in Freedom”. After all these events the Vote of Thanks was given by Mr. S. J. Kabilan, Assistant Director – Student Affairs / Event Convener, KARE. He appreciated and thanked the students and faculty coordinators for their conduction and coordination of the events and all student participants for providing their fullest cooperation. The event was ended with a National Anthem. Post this an awareness rally was organized inside the campus of KARE by NSS.
As India has made history as its Chandrayaan-3 became the first to land on the south-pole region of the
moon on 23 rd August 2023. To embark this scientific impact of moonmental achievement, Department of
Physics organized “Chandrayan Utsav” on 16.09.2023 in 9 th block seminar Hall from 9.00 AM to
5.00 PM. Events such as Poster Sketching, Skit, Model Display, short Film-Video making, Quiz were
conducted based on theme ‘India on Moon’, ‘New India on Moon’, ‘Moon is not far away’, ‘Lunar Journey
of New India’, and ‘Self-reliant India’s Chandrayaan. Around 100 students participated and they
showcased their talents. Dr. M.S. Revathy, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics co-ordinated this
event.
Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) organized a special awareness guest lecture on the
title, ‘Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO)’ on 08 th September, 2023 in the
University campus. Dr. R. Ramalakshmi, President, ICC shared the welcome address. Ms.
R.G. Bharathi, B.Sc., M.L., Head, Kalasalingam Law School gave a talk on the various
aspects of POCSO. She emphasized about the importance of protecting children from the
sexual assault, sexual abuse and sexual harassment. She explained about the Indian
constitutional laws to protect children from sexual offences. Dr. A. Samson Nesaraj, Director
(Student Affairs) shared the vote of thanks. In his address, he encouraged the students to take
steps to protect the children from this ill effect. The ICC co-ordinators Dr. S. Kavitha,
Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering and Ms. P. Priya, Department of
Biotechnology made all the arrangements.
As per the communication received from the UGC, Govt. of India, Kalasalingam
Academy of Research and Education (Deemed to be University) has organized anti-ragging
events among the students in the University campus during the second week of August, 2023.
On August, 14, 2023, an anti-ragging awareness programme was organized in the University
campus. The Vice Chancellor Dr. S. Narayanan, the Registrar Dr. V. Vasudevan and the
Director (Student Affairs) Dr. A. Samson Nesaraj have attended and created awareness about
anti-ragging among the students. Students who won the anti-ragging competitions received
the awards and certificates. Dr. S. Kavitha and Dr. G. Kalusuraman have made arrangements
for the event.
As per the communication received from the UGC, Govt. of India, Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education (Deemed to be University) organized anti-ragging events among the students in the University campus during the second week of August, 2024. On August, 12, 2024, national anti-ragging day celebrations were held in the University campus. Dr. A. Samson Nesaraj, Director (Student Affairs) offered the welcome note. The Dr. S. Narayanan, Vice Chancellor mentioned that the University is an anti-ragging free campus. Prizes and certificates were distributed to the students who won anti-ragging competitions. The special guest Mrs. R. G. Bharathi, HOD, School of Law, spoke about the ill effects and legal perspectives of ragging. Dr. S. Arul Xavier Stango, Member Co-ordinator of Anti-ragging Cell shared the vote of thanks. More than 200 students participated in the event.
The Anti-Drug Cell of Kalasalingam University organized an anti-drug awareness
program on 30 th November 2024. Over 200 students from various departments
actively participated in photography and sketch-making competitions designed to
highlight the dangers of drug abuse. The event began with a welcome address by
Dr. B. Sundaravel, setting the tone for the day’s activities. Dr. A. Samson Nesaraj,
Director of Student Affairs, delivered the inaugural address, speaking passionately
about the devastating effects of drug addiction and the importance of youth-led
initiatives in combating this menace. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by
Mr. Rudrank Shukla, Convenor of the Anti-Drug Cell and Nodal Officer, who
expressed gratitude to all participants and organizers for their enthusiasm and
commitment to the cause. The initiative aimed to raise awareness and empower
students to actively contribute to creating a drug-free society.
