Semester Abroad Program

Korean Govt. Scholarships for doing M.S. and Ph.D. in South Korea

Office of International Relations at Kalasalingam University (KLU) strives to bring global perspective to the education and training through semester abroad program for the students, faculty exchange with leading universities abroad and foreign language learning programs.

Semester abroad program allows the students to register and pursue classes in a collaborating university abroad and transfer the credits to KLU for a semester during their stay at KLU. This allows students to experience international practices and prepare them for an increasingly globalized world. KLU has various types of agreements with universities in a number of countries including USA, UK, Germany, South Korea, and Mexico. So far 15 students from KLU participated in this program visiting South Korea and Mexico. Similarly five students from South Korea also participated in semester abroad program at KLU. These students are funded from their personal resources but there are limited fellowships available for deserving and meritorious students.

Researchers from around the world visit KLU on a regular basis for interactions, lectures and academic and research collaborations. Similarly faculty members from KLU also visit universities abroad for lecture and research. Conferences organized by various departments provide opportunities for focused discussion on topics of national and international importance with leading researchers from around the world.

Foreign language classes are regularly conducted for the benefit of students and faculty at KLU. Learning a new language opens up possibilities for exploring new culture and widens our view of the world. It also offers increased career choices and proves advantageous in a globalized market place.
