Department of Computer Science and Engineering was established in the year 1984. The department started offering B.E. (CSE) program from 1984. In 1995 the Department became the first self-finance engineering college department in south India to offer M.E (CSE). Based on the infrastructure and faculty strength the department was recognized as research centre by Anna University in 2003 to offer M.S (by Research) and PhD programs in the area of computer Science and Engineering
Department has well equipped laboratories and laboratory facilities are available to the students round the clock. Department has internet facilities (24Mbps) through leased line and satellite link (DVB).
Highly qualified and experienced faculty with specialization in Networking, Algorithms, Data Mining, Image Processing, Software Engineering, Natural language processing, Computer graphics, Web Technology, Embedded systems, Evolutionary computing, Network security, Wireless sensor networks etc. are available.
Department has close interaction with various leading industries and educational Institutions. Many projects were carried out in association with leading software industries and user industries including Naturesoft, Pentasoft, Hexaware, BHEL, CTS, HCL, Sathyam, IGCAR, CECRI, CLRI, Ramco Systems, Wipro, TCS, Flextronics, etc.
Department also offer many value added educational programs to the students including industry Certification like CCNA, Security+, Sun Java, RedHat Linux Certification, etc.
Students are given proper exposure to current trends including embedded system design, network management and administration, bio-informatics, extreme programming, software architecture, sensor networks, grid computing, soft computing etc. through workshops, guest lectures, seminars by industry experts, professionals etc
The department association carries out technical activities and skill development for students throughout the academic year including display of bulletins to update:
