Since the inception of Arulmigu Kalasalingam College of Engineering, in 1984, the department of English has been involved in teaching the English language for special and specific purpose, specially, the scientific and technical writing, promoting engineering and technology.

In addition to teaching scientific and technical writing, the department concentrates on inculcating the habit of reading, focusing the advantages of effective listening and prompting the skills for good communication.
