Department of Physics

The Department of Physics, Kalasalingam University was started in 1984 through the pioneering vision of “Kalvi vallal” Thiru T. Kalasalingam, It has grown into a department of research, with excellent active research in almost all frontier areas of Physics. Presently the department is offering Ph.D., M.S. (Physics), and Post Graduate (M. Sc. Medical Physics) courses.  The department of Physics has been involved in teaching to promote science and technology to the B.Tech and M.Sc., Students.

The Faculty members of the department has strong research programs in various fields of the discipline, including Crystallography, Spectroscopy, thin films, theoretical physics, NLO, Polymer science, Nanoscience & Technology, non-conventional energy, etc.  The department has equipped laboratories through which creative ideas are implanted in the minds of the students.

The Department is confronted by the mission of creating new technologies and procedures for the production of various new materials useful in the fields of medicine and opto-electronics, for the effective usage of pharmacological and semi-conductor industries through the cutting edge of research and education.
