The Department of Mechanical Engineering was started at the time of inception of the college in 1984 to offer B.E Mechanical Engineering. Its development is time tested and growth is steady. Well qualified faculty members with good teaching and industrial experience work in the Department and mould the students into useful engineers to cater the needs of industries. The Department is well equipped with a sophisticated library which has a good collection of books and journals with internet connectivity. The B.E Mechanical Engineering course of the department was accredited by NBA of AICTE in the year 2003.

The Department also offers P.G Courses viz., M.E. CAD / CAM and M.E. Energy Engineering.
