Welcome to the Department of Chemistry, Kalasalingam University, a vibrant mix of faculties, researchers and students. The Department of Chemistry is one of the oldest departments of our University. The starting point of the department dates back to 1984. Since then, its excellence in each and every aspect has played an important role in the University. The Department, comprising Center for Nanotechnology and Materials Research, is offering 2 years M.Tech. Course in Nanotechnology.

The staffs of the department are highly qualified, intelligent and dedicated. The faculties are well experienced and trained from Japan, UK, South Korea, Taiwan and South Africa. They are not only involved in teaching but also in the advanced research. This department has well equipped research laboratories and Internet facilities which lead to pour innovative ideas to the students.  

The choices for research in the department include Environmental Sciences, Electron Transfer Process, Coordination Complexes and their Biological Applications, Electrochemistry, Material Sciences, Polymer Sciences, Nanomaterials and Biosensors. The research is at an International competitive level and the research papers are published in highly reputed journals.
