Objective:

The main objective of this course is to acquaint participants with VLSI Design fundamentals and provide them with practical knowledge of the software and tools used for these designs.

         

           Eligibility:

           Pre-requisites

All applicants should possess a sound knowledge of electronic circuits, Analog and digital Design, Computer Architecture and Unix commands.

           Course Duration                  :  40 hours

  1. Introduction to VLSI design
  2. CMOS VLSI design and  fabrication process
  3. Advanced digital system design
  4. VHDL programming
  5. ASIC design flow
  6. System partitioning, floor planning
  7. Placement and routing.
  8. Verilog programming
  9. CPLD & FPGA  programming and synthesis
  10. Cadence Mixed Signal Environment

Lab Exercise:

  1. Design of mixed signal circuits using Cadence MDE
  2. VHDL Programming of digital circuits using ModelSim
  3. Verilog Programming of digital circuits using ModelSim
  4. Synthesizing and hardware implementation of digital circuits using Xilinx CPLD

  3. Cadence EDA tools
  4. CPLD Trainer kit with PGLA 100
